MMFSA hosts as well organizes Film Festivals collaborating with film clubs and art academies. In organizing film festivals, we see the following purposes: promoting interests in art films, celebrating the legacy of world cinema and promoting viewer education.
Short Film Competition
In order to encourage young aspirants and promote experimentation and narrative innovation in filmmaking, MMFSA conducts Annual Short Film Competition. Young people from all over Tamilnadu participate.
MMFSA sees filmmaking as a collaborative art and is keen to promote music, drawing and painting, sculpting and photography. In this regard, MMFSA collaborates with organisations of similar commitment. Presently we work with Nigazh Theatre Centre, JV Art Foundation and Centre for Education Development Action and Research (CEDAR). Besides promoting public taste in art, we encourage upcoming artists by organizing art and photo exhibitions of their works.
MMFSA is also committed to the idea of social responsibility of art and artists. In collaboration with likeminded organizations, we teach art to under privileged children. Students also organize street theatre performances to propagate socially relevant ideals.
